Succeed Cowork founder Fenika Miller said they formed about two weeks before the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. She initially wanted to open the business in Perry due to the fact that she is from the area, but said it did not work out due to the lack of space needed for her business.

“I had been a mentor with SCORE Middle Georgia and had done work with the Late Magazine and the Minority Business League,” Miller said. “I was just trying to be an asset to not only minority and women-owned businesses, but also there was not a lot of meeting space and safe space in order for folks to have a regular space to meet. We had the idea to create a hub or entrepreneurial incubator, and that is how Succeed Cowork was formed.”

Miller said it felt amazing to be a part of Middle Georgia Coworking Day. Succeed Cowork hosted Coworking Day last year.

“It felt really good to be in a community with folks being involved in what I like to call ‘across county coworking,’” she said. “All of the coworking we did with the community owners, along with the men, women, coffee shops, multicultural and very diverse community of folks supporting each other and building community together was amazing.”

Succeed Cowork was the only coworking business representing Houston County. Miller wants to grow their coworking ecosystem.

“I know that there are coffee shops and spaces that have private businesses, as we do not have private offices here,” she said. “It felt really great to represent Houston County, and I would love to see us have more spaces and community spaces here in Warner Robins and Perry.”

Miller said her main takeaway for her business being at Middle Georgia Coworking Day is that there is a desire and a demand for professionals, freelancers, solopreneurs and remote workers to build communities and grow our businesses together.

Miller hopes Succeed Cowork will be in attendance at Middle Georgia Coworking Day next year.

“We got our proclamation, and we expect that next year will be bigger and better in hopes of getting more coworking spaces here in Houston County,” she said.
