Special to the Journal

Along with schools all across the country, David A. Perdue Primary School

celebrated Dr. Seuss’ birthday and Read Across America Day throughout the week

of February 25 through March 1.

In addition to reading lots of Dr. Seuss

books, the students wore crazy socks on Monday for Fox In Socks, wore shirts that named a place on Tuesday (for Oh the Places You’ll Go), wore Grinch

green on Wednesday and ate green eggs and ham served by the cafeteria staff at

breakfast, wore hats to celebrate The Cat

in the Hat and say “hats off to Dr. Seuss” on Thursday, and dressed like

the characters from Seuss’ fictitious “Whoville” on Friday.

The students

were also served “birthday” cupcakes (made by the lunchroom staff) on their

lunch trays on Friday.
