The Lady Bears are headed to Columbus for the third time in five years under head coach April Collins after defeated South Paulding in two games last week.

HoCo continued to hone their newfound energy as they dispatched the Lady Spartans with 11-3 and 9-0 scores. They only trailed in the first inning of Game 1 after a home run by South Paulding freshman Charlie Allen, but after retaking the lead in the bottom of the inning the Lady Bears never trailed again.

In the first game of the tournament in Columbus, HoCo will play Jackson County on Wednesday, Oct. 29 at 11 a.m.

Veterans

Veterans nearly swept Region 5-5A’s champion, Alexander, last week but the Game 2 comeback fell short in the seventh for a 7-6 final.

The other two games, though, were all Warhawks as they outscored the Lady Cougars 21-1 in the first and third games of the series.

Veterans’ first game in Columbus will be Wednesday, Oct. 29 at 11 a.m. against Loganville.
