Second death related to COVID-19 reported in Houston County

The Georgia Department of Public Health, Monday evening, reported the second death related to COVID-19, in Houston County.

The individual was an 85-year-old male, and it was unknown if he had an underlying health condition. The first death reported in Houston County was last Wednesday, a 65-year-old male who had an underlying health condition.

A daily report is given each day at 12 p.m. and 7 p.m. As of Monday evening, for the state of Georgia, there were 3,032 cases confirmed and 102 deaths related to COVID-19. Fulton County is the top county with the most cases at 503, and Dougherty County is the top county in loss of life with 18 deaths related to COVID-19; Houston County had 26 cases.

The ages of those who have passed away range from 48 to 95, but the youngest age of death was reported Monday evening in Peach County. The individual was a 29-year-old female, and it was unknown if she had an underlying health condition.

Also as of Monday evening, it was reported that 11,562 tests have been issued with 2,731 reported positive. Cases confirmed by sex are 50% female, and 48% male with 2% unknown.
