School system online registration

The Houston County School System now offers online registration. A quick and easy tool to use, parents may conveniently begin the enrollment process for a new student prior to completing the process at the district’s Central Registration.

The form is posted to the Houston County Board of Education website on the Central Registration webpage. English and Spanish versions are available.

Using the online form will allow parents to complete the following information ahead of time: student and parent names, address, phone numbers, contact preferences, emergency contact persons and those authorized to pick up or sign out the student. To use the online form, a valid email address is required.

Assistant Superintendent for School Operations Cindy Flesher said, “In an effort to expedite the registration process and to enhance the customer service experience, we are excited to launch online registration for families new to Houston County schools.”

Parents will still need to physically go to Central Registration to submit all documents required for registration. The online option allows one to expedite the process by completing their child’s personal information electronically prior to visiting Central Registration.

Those who do not have access to the Internet or who would rather complete the paperwork in person may still do so at Central Registration. In addition, Central Registration has computer kiosks available for parents to use to complete the online form.

The following items are required to register a child at Central Registration:

· Parent/Guardian photo ID

· Certified birth certificate

· Guardianship/custody orders if child does not live with his natural parents

· Lease or mortgage statement

· Second proof of residence such as:

Utility bill (electric, water or cable bill), Property tax statement or income tax statement, Automobile registration or insurance, or Mail from any government agency

· Social Security Card

· Ear, Eye and Dental Screening, Georgia Form 3300 (available from a doctor or the Health Department)

· Immunization Certificate, Georgia Form 3231 (available from a doctor or the Health Department).

· Students transferring from another school district will also need to provide their last report card.
