WARNER ROBINS – Robins Financial Credit Union reached its 70th anniversary this year and has celebrated with the community all year long.

The credit union has been serving its community since 1954, after a group of 13 Robins Air Force Base civilian and military personnel signed the application for a charter for Robins Federal Credit Union.

The charter included a field on requested membership:

“Civilian employees and commissioned officers of the Department of the Air Force who worked at or had headquarters at Robins Air Force Base, Georgia; employees of this credit union; members of their immediate families; and organizations of such persons.”

The charter was approved on March 23, 1954, and on April 1, 1954, the credit union was born.

Marketing Communications Manager Alexis Klima said the credit union has been feeling great about reaching the milestone and celebrating with the community.

“It just shows a lot about the community support that’s been behind us for so long. We started with 13 members and now we’re up to 272,000 plus. I think that just shows the strength and the relationships with the community,” she said.

The credit union’s growth has increased over the years, but its principle of helping people remains. Klima believes they have grown from their original mission and are always incorporating more.

“Robins Financial was founded 70 years ago on the philosophy of ‘People Helping People’ and we have remained dedicated to our mission to be member focused, financial partners, community proud,” she said.

Back in April, Robins Financial hosted a Proclamation Day, where they invited community members to celebrate their anniversary. The credit union also recently opened a new branch in Macon and currently has 24 branches throughout the state.

Other branches include: Athens, Conyers, Dublin, Forsyth, Fort Valley, Gray, McRae, Milledgeville, Perry, Swainsboro, Warner Robins and Watkinsville.

Klima said they have been able to contribute more this year to their donations and sponsorships.

In Houston County alone, they have donated $291,305 to 125 organizations. Klima said that has been a way for them to celebrate their milestone by giving back.

Klima said Robins Financial is very thankful for its members and their support throughout 70 years of being a part of the community. She shared they look forward to serving them, being their financial partner and giving back.

“We want to thank our members for their continued trust and support,” she said.

Although Robins Financial Credit Union has grown since 1954, they still follow their vision statement, “enhance the financial well-being of our members and community.”

Robins Financial serves 45 counties. Anyone who lives and works in those counties is eligible for banking services.
