Red light violation leads to injuries
At approximately 12:17 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon, emergency personnel of Warner Robins were dispatched to a vehicle rolled on its side in front of CSL Plasma on Green Street. The Houston Home Journal was able to speak with Assistant Police Chief Chris Rooks regarding the vehicular accident.
According to Rooks who was referencing the police report, the accident involved two vehicles— a beige 2017 Hyundai Elantra and a green 2000 Chevrolet Silverado. He explained that the Silverado was traveling eastbound on Green Street and was crossing the North Houston Road intersection with a green traffic signal. The Elantra was reportedly traveling north on North Houston Road in the right outside lane. Rooks shared that the Elantra ran the red traffic signal and struck the right rear of the Silverado.
“The collision caused the rear of vehicle two (the Silverado) to spin clockwise, then it struck a curb that caused it to roll onto its side,” detailed Rooks.
There were several eyewitnesses to the accident, and many of them rushed out to assist in any way that they could. With the truck landing on its side, the occupants of the vehicle were extracted with the Jaws of Life and were transported to Atrium Navicent for their visible injuries.
