Promotions Committee votes to expand hours of Farmers Market

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

On Wednesday, the Perry Promotions Committee held a special called meeting and a regular meeting at the Perfect Pear.

The committee first voted to expand the hours of operation for the Perry Farmers Market. The members approved allowing the market to stay open until 1 p.m.

Their decision will now be presented to Mayor and Council for approval next week.

In the regular meeting, the group had more discussions about the market, talked about the Buzzard Drop and how to promote it, Small Business Saturday and the potential for hosting an Octoberfest event in downtown Perry.

Small Business Saturday looks to promote local community businesses the day after Black Friday. Buzzard Drop is the city’s annual New Year’s Eve celebration.
