Police arrest man for Cox Dr. shooting

On April 12, 2020 at 2:30 a.m., Warner Robins police officers met with a 34-year-old male at the Houston Medical Center suffering from a gunshot wound to the facial area. The male advised officers the incident occurred on Cox Drive.

Officers found the victim’s vehicle at Cox Dr. and North Ave. where he abandoned it after being shot. The victim attempted to seek help in the area. He was picked up by a passerby and driven to the hospital. The victim was since then transported to Navicent in Macon with a non-life threatening injury.

On April 14, 2020 at 6:30 a.m., members of the U.S. Marshal Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, Houston County, and Pulaski Sheriff’s Office arrested Shiquan Diamonte Shenett (26) for outstanding warrants regarding the shooting on Cox Drive April 12. Shenett was arrested at a residence on Harris Street in Hawkinsville.

Shenett was processed at the Warner Robins Police Department and transported to the Houston County Detention Facility. The shooting victim has been released from the hospital. Warner Robins Police has had an officer assigned to the US Marshal Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force (SERFTF) for 13 years.
