Phyllis Ann Kenney O’Connell, 90, of Wilkes-Barre, PA and formerly of Perry passed away Monday, March 21, 2016. She was born Oct. 29, 1925, in Wilkes-Barre, a daughter of the late William J. Kinney and Mary (Williams) Kinney. She was a registered nurse for over 50 years, served on the staffs of Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre, PA, St. Agnes Hospital, White Plains, NY, St. Mary’s Hospital, Orange, NJ, Houston County Hospital, Warren Robbins, GA, and the VA Hospital, Wilkes-Barre. She was preceded in death by her husband Marcus E. O’Connell, her parents and brother Jimmy.

Surviving are her children, Mary Beth McArdle, Florham Park, NJ; Mark O’Connell, Portland, OR; Michael O’Connell, Indianapolis, IN; Patricia O’Connell Rose, Mansfield, TX; Theresa O’Connell Picard, Milford, PA; Bill O’Connell, Georgetown, MA; Paul O’Connell, Blakeslee, PA; Colleen O’Connell, Nidri, Greece; 10 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; sisters Mary Keating, Fairfax, VA; Joan Mangan, Bear Creek, PA; and Ellen Wallace, Wilkes-Barre, PA.

Phyllis spent her entire life dedicated to nursing and will be remembered with loving affection as a wonderful and caring daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt and dearly loved friend to many.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, March 29 at 9:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Little Flower Manor, 200 South Meade Street, Wilkes-Barre. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call Monday from 5-8 p.m. at E. Blake Collins Funeral Home, 159 George Avenue, Wilkes-Barre.
