Perry’s season ends on a sweep by North Oconee

Though a few magic moments have carried Perry this far, the Panthers’ season ended on a sweep by the North Oconee Titans on Monday.

PERRY — Perry made it through the first two rounds with some magic moments, but it ran out as they were decisively defeated by the North Oconee Titans 10-1 and 8-1 on Monday.

Though game one got away, through the first few innings of game two it looked like the Panthers may be able to muster a little more magic.

The Titans broke through in the bottom of the third, as a walk loaded the bases.

North Oconee walked in the first run, and the Panthers couldn’t wrangle the next hit as two more Titans scampered home to take a 3-0 lead.

They added two more before the inning ended, and Perry looked to answer.

The Panthers weren’t able to gain any ground in the top of the fourth inning, and North Oconee extended their advantage in the bottom adding three more runs.

Perry got on the board in the fifth inning, their lone run walked in by Nathan O’Rear.

Unfortunately, despite holding the Titans scoreless for the remainder of the game, the Panthers couldn’t make the comeback to stay alive.
