Perry WWII vet Wallis Hurlbutt attends Bomber Group reunion
Wallis Hurlbutt, (Lt. Col. Ret), 93, of Perry stands in front of the newcomer to the Joint Strike Force, an F-35 Fighter Jet at Eglin AFB. Wallis was one of about nine WWII veterans from the 86th Fighter Bomber Group, and families, attending their 34th reunion in Fort Walton Beach last weekend. Standing with Wallis during this VIP treatment by the 33rd Fighter Bomber Wing stationed at Eglin is (left to right) son-in-law Jim Lay of Perry, son Steve Hurlbutt of Atlanta and friend Dale Robbins of Atlanta.
