Perry victorious in volleyball

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Perry’s varsity volleyball team kicked off the season at ACE (Academy for Classical Education) in Macon last Thursday. After losing to a good ACE team, the Perry girls squared off against Mary Persons, playing two action-packed matches, with the second going down to the wire (Perry 32-30).

Perry has six seniors retuning, and Jamie Stewart, Perry’s head coach, is optimistic about the season.

“Our team chemistry is the best it’s ever been—these young ladies want it for their sisters on the court even more than they want it for themselves, and that shows up every day on the court. We have set some pretty lofty goals for the state playoffs and are going to put in the hard work to get there.”

The Perry Panthers will be looking for redemption when they play ACE again in home opener, and they will also face a tough team form Warner Robins High School. Varsity and JV will both play at 5 p.m. on Tuesday in Perry’s Gym.
