Perry PD arrest three
On Thursday, July 2, at approximately 12:45 a.m., officers of the Perry Police Department responded to the Great Inn located on St. Patrick’s Drive in Perry. At that location, officers found a male subject with gunshot wounds. Both Perry Fire Department and Houston EMS rendered aid, but the subject died on the scene.
The victim is identified as D’undrea Monta Jolly (20) of Fort Valley, Ga.
Detectives responded to the scene along with GBI Forensics Unit and began the investigation. The Perry Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division initiated an intense investigation. The team learned that four subjects appeared to have been in the motel room at the time that the victim was shot.
The investigation led the detectives to a neighboring county, and then from there, both Alabama and Indiana. In the early morning hours of July 5, Perry detectives and Calhoun County (AL) deputies arrested two suspects without incident. They also recovered a vehicle that was used to facilitate the crime.
These two suspects are indentified as Samuel Clayton Miller (22) of Anniston, Ala. and Tycovian Kemon Whitlow (22) of Alexandria, Ala. They are being held in the Clayton County Jail awaiting extradition to Georgia. Both are charged with felony murder.
Later on July 5, Perry detectives traveled to Clarksville, Ind. in search of two additional subjects. In that city, with the assistance of Clarksville, Ind. Police Department, the second vehicle involved in the crime was recovered.
On the evening of July 6, a third suspect, Tara Mechelle Redding (20) of Reynolds, Ga. turned herself in at the Perry Police Department after returning from Indiana. She was booked into the Houston County Jail on the charge of felony murder.
Perry Police detectives are still in Indiana attempting to locate the fourth suspect, Quintavious Deon Dobbins (23) of Anniston, Ala. The Clarksville, Ind. Police Department, the Indiana State Police and the FBI are assisting them in that effort. Anyone who has knowledge of the Dobbins suspect’s location is asked to contact the Perry Police Department or the local Indiana authorities.
