PERRY, Ga. — The Perry Junior League had no issues putting away their opponents and bringing another 10U district title to Houston County. According to PJL 10U manager Dan Grahl, the Perry All-Star team is a collection of talented and hard working athletes.

“They are a hard working group of guys that has a passion for the game of baseball,” Grahl said. “We were able to participate in and win the recent 10U District tournament, which was awesome!” The coaches of this season’s district championship team are Sheldon Shelton and Phillip Yoder. Members of the PJL 10U champs include: Bryant Baker, Grant Borum, Logan Gagne, Ken Grahl, Brayden Head, Caleb Jackson, Eason Neil, Sutton Pearson, Cole Readett, Conner Sexton, Knox Shelton and Dakota Yoder.

According to PJL President Christy Bridges, This 10U team will represent the Perry Junior League and the district at Georgia’s state tournament in July.

“If they win the state tournament, they will advance to the Dixie Youth World Series,” Bridges mentioned. “We are excited about how well our PJL all-star teams have performed at the district level. Our 6U boys, 8U boys and 10U boys are all district champions. All of our all-star teams are fundraising to help offset the cost of playing in these tournaments. We are grateful to the community for supporting these families.”

Perry Junior League’s girls will begin their all-star tournaments this weekend, with the 6U girls (Sweet-Tees) and 10U girls (Angels) will playing in Cochran. The 8U girls (Darlings) will play in Perry on June 24-27.

Perry really loves their baseball — whether it is the junior league, high school or even former athletes competing in the Major Leagues. Word around is this group could do big things.

“All of the coaches believe this is a special group, and we look forward to seeing how well they continue to play,” 10U Manager Dan Grahl added.
