Perry High Freshman Football practices with Varsity

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

PERRY, Ga. — The freshman football team practiced with the varsity team during a practice session for the first time at the Panther Pit last Thursday.

During the practice, Head Coach Kevin Smith divided the varsity and freshman teams up and pitted the broken-up teams against each other: varsity vs. varsity and freshman vs. freshman. However, during this practice, Smith saw the opportunity to take one of the varsity teams and one of the freshman teams and work them against each other.

“Under my leadership, that was the first time we have been able to do that with our young players,” Smith said. “It was very exciting to see them compete against each other. Definitely was productive and fun for the players!”

Coach Smith hoped to give his freshman team some tougher practice to see where they stand and to observe and critique.
