Panthers make strides amid region stretch

PERRY, Ga. — Prior to Friday, it had been eight days since the Panther Pit Crew, last played on the diamond.

Against Crawford County, the Panthers prevailed. The final score was 7-3, as the Panthers won a non-region contest in the Pit.

The Perry Panthers batting average was .450 against Crawford County, which was great to say the least. For some team totals: Perry had 30 plate appearances, 13 hits, 6 RBI’s and scored 7 runs in route to their tenth win of 2022. On the final day of March, the Panthers hosted the Baldwin Braves. The Braves are 1-15 overall after suffering a 15-0 lost to the Panthers. Perry will look to cleanup their mistakes on the road. At home, the Panthers scored 15 runs and had 12 hits. The Baldwin Braves had two costly errors early on, which hurt their evening. Following a home game in the Panther Pit, Perry traveled to Milledgeville on Friday for a region double-header. Perry hopes to remain the number one seed in region 4-4A, as the Panthers will host West Laurens on Monday April 4, for another region double-header.

Now, the Perry Panthers are back on the diamond and Coach Denny Bryant believes his Perry Panthers will win many of their games, but have not gotten it done. Every non-region game that Perry has played has been ranked in the Top 10 of their respected GHSA classification. According to Coach Bryant, the Panthers have stacked games against key opponents to prepare for a long playoff run.

The Panther Pit Crew is 11-8 overall and after their recent win remains undefeated in region 4-4A (4-AAAA). The Panthers are 6-0 in their region. The Panthers have are 7-2, at home, but on the road the Pit Crew is 2-3. At Neutral sites, the Panthers are 2-3 as well.
