One injured in WR shooting
WARNER ROBINS, Ga. — 36-year-old Chimain Brooks was shot Sunday evening as a result of an argument while picking up her child from another residence. Warner Robins Police provided additional details.
According to a press release, WRPD responded to a notice of a gunshot victim at Houston Healthcare Warner Robins. Brooks was transported there via private vehicle after being injured at 613 Greenbriar Road, in Warner Robins.
Lieutenant Eric Gossman described a bit of what the department’s investigation has revealed.
“[Brooks] went to pick up her child from a either a friend or family member,” Gossman said. “While there, there was some type of argument ensued between a friend of hers and another person on scene. There was a gun displayed, and [Brooks] wasn’t the intended victim, but the gun [went] off, and she got hit with a round in the arm.”
Brooks sustained an injury that was not a threat to her life.
As of print time Tuesday, police are searching for the shooter, who is currently going unnamed by police.
