WARNER ROBINS, Ga. — A man died Saturday following the collision of a dirt bike and a Chevy Suburban. The Journal spoke with Assistant Chief Wayne Fisher for more details.

“The [dirt bike] was travelling southbound on John’s Road, as the Chevy Suburban was westbound on Carroll Drive,” Fisher said. “The Suburban [had] stopped for the stop sign, and then proceeded through the intersection, when [the dirt bike] ran the stop sign and struck the passenger side of the Suburban, the front door and front fender.”

The driver of the dirt bike was not wearing a helmet. Fisher also noted that the vehicle did not have a working headlight.

After making contact with the Suburban, the driver of the dirt bike fell onto the roadway.

“When the patrol officers got on scene they initiated CPR until Warner Robins Fire Department arrived on scene, at which time they took over CPR. The motorcycle operator was transported to Houston Medical Center.”

The crash occurred around 6:41 p.m. The driver of the dirt bike, later identified as 24-year-old Ahmon Mallory of Warner Robins, was pronounced dead at 7:05 p.m.

According to Fisher, the driver of the Suburban is not currently facing any charges.

As more information on the crash becomes available, you can read about it in The Houston Home Journal.
