Northside High’s Kevondre Hunt, in what had to be a photo finish, won the 300-meter hurdles race Saturday during the GHSA AAAAA track and field championships at Memorial Stadium at Jefferson High School.

Hunt’s time in the finals was 38.19 seconds. That was better than his 38.93 in Friday’s preliminaries, which also was the best of all 16 qualifiers.

Christopher Morris of SW DeKalb was a hair’s breath behind Hunt in the finals running in 38.38 seconds.

Hunt placed second in the 110 hurdles finals in 15.11.

Other state track results from Class AAAA include Ronald Collins’ sixth place in the 300 hurdles for Veterans High and Perry’s Jimmy Mehserle placing seventh in the two-mile.
