Northside wins big over Tigers 42-13: Eagles advance to 6A State Quarterfinals

Coach Chad Alligood and the Northside Eagles beat the Douglas County Tigers 42-13. An impressive 35 first half points helped the Eagles end the Tigers season. Douglas County’s only points came on a late fourth quarter field goal. The Eagles from Warner Robins finished their regular season with a 7-3 overall record and a 2-1-region record. Northside goes into the third round of GHSA State AAAAAA Playoffs as the second seed from region 1-AAAAAA.

Injured Northisde three-star linebacker Micah Thurman and wide-out Centavious Lowe will lead the charge for the Northside Eagles. The Northside defense had three interceptions, only allowed 70 rushing yards and 310 yards of total offense against an 8-3 Tiger team. The Eagles will play at a neutral site on Friday November 26 against the Langston Hughes Panthers (Fairburn, Georgia). Northside and Langston Hughes, both come into this third round matchup with impressive records. Northside improved to 9-3 overall, while Langston Hughes comes into the matchup with an 11-1 record.
