Nine arrests made, $7,900 seized on I-75
A traffic stop on Interstate 75 resulted in the arrests of
nine people, the seizure of nearly $8,000 in cash and five ounces of marijuana.
According to Perry Police
Capt. Heath Dykes, Cpl. Keenom conducted a traffic stop on I-75 South bound
Sunday morning on a Ford Econoline passenger van for a window tint
violation.
During the traffic
stop officers smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. A
search of the vehicle was conducted and five ounces of marijuana was found
along with hashish, a schedule one narcotic. There was also approximately
$7,900 cash seized from the vehicle.
Lorne W. Gordon, 45;
Keith Blair, 35; Howard Smith, 36; Dave Richards, 31; Duwayne R. Hoilett Sr.,
46; Jason Anthony Garcia, 26; and the driver of the van, Omar William Glenn,
26, were all charged with possession with the intent to distribute marijuana
and possession of schedule I drugs. All are from Florida.
Fabian Anthony Smith
and Fitz Livermore, both from Jamaica, were charged with possession with the
intent to distribute marijuana and possession of schedule I drugs.
They are all being
held at the Houston County Jail.
