Mr. Donald Adrian Norris, Jr., 64 of Patterson, passed away early Saturday morning, October 19, 2013, at the Hospice Satilla Hospice House.

Born in Dayton, OH on April 4, 1949, he had lived in Perry, GA for several years before moving to Pierce County in 1973. Mr. Norris had been the manager of The Barnard Company for 26 years prior to teaching construction at Pierce County High School from which he retired. He had also a former mayor of Patterson and was a former member of the Patterson Lions Club. Mr. Norris was a very active member of Patterson Baptist Church where he had served as a deacon, the church treasurer and also the sound director. He was a member of the Median Adult IV Sunday school class. Mr. Norris enjoyed building and collecting radio controlled airplanes. He also enjoyed cooking and fishing and will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Mr. Norris was preceded in death by his mother, Florence Ethel Cecelia Keck Norris.

He is survived by his wife, Dot DuBois Norris of Patterson; a daughter and son-in-law, Marti & David Cauthen of Patterson; a son and daughter-in-law, Donny, III & Anna Norris of Patterson; his father, Don Norris, Sr. of Perry, GA; a sister and brother-in-law, Donna & Keiland Harrington of Perry; a brother and sister-in-law, Gerald & Kathy Norris of Perry; five grandchildren, Raechel Cauthen, Raegen Cauthen, Coleman Lee, Thomas Cauthen and Mary Grace Norris; and several nieces, nephews & other relatives.

Funeral services for Mr. Norris were held at 3 o’clock, Monday afternoon, October 21, 2013, from the Patterson Baptist Church.

Visitation for Mr. Norris was held from 1 until 3 pm Monday at the church.

Interment was in the Patterson Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Satilla Hospice House, 811 Beacon Street, Waycross, GA 31501 or to the Patterson Baptist Church Building Fund, 5770 E. Main Street, Patterson, GA 31557.
