Mossy Creek Middle wins first place at Academic Bowl
Mossy Creek Middle School won first place in the annual Jimmy Carter National Historic Academic Bowl held at the Jimmy Carter National Historic Site in Plains.
The winning team consists of: Nivedha Soundappan, Aiza Aslam, Tucker Mercier, Nia Foy, Matthew Barroso, Christopher Barroso, Keerti Soundappan, Victoria Roy, Alan Lee and Brody Foster. Their coach is Carol Kohn.
This annual Academic Bowl for area middle schools and high schools is a battle of the minds. Held at the Plains High School Museum, students answered questions on a variety of topics such as American history, world history, economics and geography. Mossy Creek Middle won after several rounds of competition.
