Missing Centerville woman found dead, Warner Robins Police Department investigating

WARNER ROBINS — Teresa Meharg, 70, was found dead after being missing since Sunday, July 12. 

Meharg was last seen at Fountain Blue Nursing Home in Macon. She clocked in to work at the nursing home on Sunday morning but never clocked out.

According to a media release, members of the Warner Robins Police Department were dispatched on Saturday at around 3:46 p.m. to a call in reference to a vehicle that appeared to have crashed in a ditch. Units arrived on scene and located the vehicle in question on Gunn Road by Madison Place Parkway.

Officers were able to identify that there was a female occupant who was deceased. The identity was confirmed to be Meharg and the vehicle belonged to her. 

Meharg’s daughter Kelly Haynes shared her statement on Facebook. 

“Over the past 13 days, we have been overwhelmed by the incredible kindness and compassion shown by so many people in our community. To every volunteer, every person who has shared my mom’s flyer, searched, prayed, reached out, or simply kept our family in your thoughts – thank you from the bottom of my heart. We did not get the outcome we wanted with her being safe. She is in heaven and is at peace now.”

Haynes has been providing updates through social media. On Wednesday, July 15, FLOCK camera footage showed Meharg getting in her car and driving alone after work. She said Meharg took a route completely opposite from her home. She took the Eisenhower Parkway exit in Macon to reach the Interstate 75 south ramp.

WRPD says this is an active and ongoing investigation.
