Man hospitalized after vehicle vs. pedestrian crash
WARNER ROBINS, Ga. — James Mann, 33, is in critical condition at Atrium Navicent in Macon after he was struck by a 2017 Dodge Ram pickup truck travelling on Russell Parkway Thursday morning. WRPD Lieutenant Eric Gossman provided details on the scene.
“Right at six o’clock [Thursday] morning, James Mann, of Warner Robins, was crossing from the north side of the road to the south side of the road on Russell Parkway, and the driver of [a pickup truck] was travelling eastbound on Russell. Mr. Mann stepped into the lane of travel for the vehicle — he didn’t see him, he tried to swerve, but he still struck him,” Gossman said.
Police and fire were on the scene following the crash, and Mann was taken to Atrium Navicent while unresponsive to stimuli. His condition remains in question.
After Mann was cleared from the area, the scene was investigated and cleared. Traffic resumed normally around 7:30 a.m.
