Macon State, Middle Georgia College merger complete with new name

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

It is a new year, and for some college students that means a new school name.

The school formerly known as Macon State College is now officially Middle Georgia State College.

The new college is a result of the merger between Macon State and Middle Georgia College, which took effect in January.

The Macon site is now one of the college’s five campuses, which also include Warner Robins, Cochran, Dublin and Eastman.

Along with the new name came other changes: the schools colors, mascot and the changing of emblems on letterhead, signs and much more.

The new team name for MGSC is the Knights, and their colors are purple, black, silver, and gray.
