Local hoop star lands HBCU offer

The 2021-2022 GHSA women’s basketball season ended, but for Warner Robins’ Jada Morgan, her work was just beginning. The combo guard’s junior campaign did not have the storybook ending, as many had expected. Morgan and the Warner Robins Lady Demonettes made it to the GHSA state 5A Final-Four, before loosing to the Woodward Academy War Eagles. On the next day, Jada Morgan was in another gym, once again showcasing her talents to college recruiters. Jada Morgan is a talented rising senior, who is competing in various showcases and Top-ranked camps, that will further prepare and expose her to the collegiate pace.

On March 17, Jada Morgan announced her first offer via Twitter. Morgan’s tweet read: “Blessed and extremely grateful to receive my first offer from Tuskegee University”. The Tuskegee coaching staff was honored to officially offer Jada Morgan an offer to play collegiate women’s basketball. The Tuskegee University Lady Golden Tigers are a NCAA Division-II school. Known to many as “Skegee”, the Lady Golden Tigers are members of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) and often will face area favorites: The Fort Valley State University and Albany State University. In an interview, the Tuskegee women coaching staff mentioned what attracted them to Jada Morgan: “We love Jada’s motor! She’s a true competitor and a great rebounder from the guard position. She has what we call the “dog mentality,” added Coach Brittany White. “Jada does whatever it takes to win for her team. Also she is a great student with a high GPA,” says Coach White.

Hoop Seen journalist Alexis Moore mentions, “Jada Marie Morgan is an ultimate competitor, anywhere there is a gym to compete, she will be there. High motor player.” As of recently, the rising senior combo guard continued to raise the eyebrows of many collegiate scouts. Morgan’s downhill, physical and aggressive play makes it easy for her to dominate on both ends of the hardwood.

Also a member of the Macon Mystics (AAU), Jada Morgan was recently awarded region 1-5A Co-Player of the Year honors. Alongside dominating region 1-5A, Morgan was also relentless in the Lady Demonettes run at state. Thus strive, prolonged into Jada Morgan making the GHSA class 5A All-State 2nd team. Morgan really racked up the individual accolades in her junior campaign. Adding this to her list of accolades, on March 16, the Lady Demonette also made the QwikCut Top 100 list. The QwikCut Classic is an official GHSA sanctioned event that showcases Top-Ranked basketball. In her junior season, Jada Morgan and Tasia Agee led the Warner Robins Lady Demons to a 25-6 (8-0) record. “War-Town” did not claim the 5A state title, but the Lady Demonettes finished number three in the Peach state. As far as Jada Morgan, Tuskegee University is her first of many offers to come.
