Local defensive star verbal commits to Clemson

WARNER ROBINS, Ga. — Victor Burley, a junior defensive end from Warner Robins is known as one of the best interior pass rushers in the country. Known to many as “BIG VIC,” Victor Burley is a four-star pass rusher and run-stopper. Currently, Victor is the second best overall player in Georgia and fourth best defensive lineman in America.

Also ranking as the 40th best high school player in the country, Burley just turned some heads. The strong side defensive end recently made a verbal commitment to the ACC’s Clemson University. The verbal commit has made “Big Vic” the second highest recruit in Clemson’s 2023 signing class.

For the Demons, Victor Burley is a two-way athlete. Burley plays tight end as well. In 2021, he recorded 54 tackles, 14 tackles for loss, five quarterback sacks and one forced fumble.

At tight end, Burley caught three passes with 51 receiving yards. Capping off a stellar junior season, Burley helped Warner Robins to a 14-1 record and a second consecutive Georgia 5A state championship.

After visiting the University Of South Carolina on March 19, the gentle giant announced a list of top twelve schools a week later. In no particular order: Oregon, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Ohio State, Texas A&M, Michigan State, Florida State, Tennessee, Oklahoma, USC at Columbia and Clemson were Burley’s final top 12 schools.

After taking a visit to Clemson, Victor “BIG VIC” Burley announced an updated list of schools, which he directed to all media via social media. Victor Burley’s updated Top-12 schools were: Ohio State, Michigan State, Florida State, Texas A&M, Florida, LSU, Miami, Georgia, Tennessee, Oklahoma, South Carolina and Clemson.

Furthermore, the local star wants to set up a kid’s football camp in Houston County. The 6’5”, 275-pound lineman entertained over 30 collegiate scholarship offers, and his final list of schools was Georgia, Tennessee, Michigan State and Clemson. The rising senior has also committed to playing in the All-American Bowl game.
