Live grenade found by Warner Robins police

The explosive was found in a residential area on Sun Valley Drive.

WARNER ROBINS — The Warner Robins Police Department urged the public to stay clear of a residential area after officers found live ammunition Friday afternoon. According to the department, on April 25, around 2:20 p.m., officers responded to 109 Sun Valley Drive, where a suspected hand grenade was found inside a used truck tool box by the new owners.

Suspecting a live explosive, the Georgia Bureau of Investigations’ Explosive Ordinance Disposal Unit was called to the scene. Law enforcement confirmed the grenade was live and secured the area.

Law enforcement secured the device and cleared the scene, the department said around 4:15 p.m.
