“Now when you’re a champion on the field, you gotta also be a champion at home, a champion at school and a champion in your day-to-day life,” Patrick said. “Because what you may not realize is people are looking up to you. You are inspiring people, people [who] you don’t even know their names. But you each are an inspiration to them.”

“So they’re watching you. They’re watching how you move on the field, in the classroom, at home and inside of your community,” she continued. “So remember the badge you wear. You’re more than just a ball player, you are a champion and you are a leader. So let’s make sure when you go back home in your communities you remember who you are and what you represent, and what you mean to strangers like me who don’t even know your name.”

These are the teams that will represent the Southeast this week: Phenix City Youth Baseball Little League from Alabama, Lake Mary Little League from Florida, Cartersville Little League from Cartersville, Georgia, Lake Norman Little League from North Carolina, Irmo Little League from South Carolina, Nolensville Little League from Tennessee, Front Royal Little League from Virginia and Jefferson County Little League from West Virginia.
