Lexi Henry – Ms. Georgia World

“You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream,” C.S. Lewis’s quote is one that Warner Robins resident, Lexi Henry has come to love and live by.

Henry was born and raised in Hawkinsville, Georgia. She graduated from Hawkinsville High School and Mercer University. She married her high school sweetheart, Lance, and together they have three boys.

Within the last couple of years Henry has gotten back into the pageantry competition where she has won several titles, including the recent title of Ms. Georgia World. She is set to compete for Ms. U.S. World in Reno, Nevada, November 16-19. Henry said she was hesitant at first to get back into pageants because of her age and being married.

“I was asked to compete for the Dooly County Relay for Life pageant two years ago,” Henry said. “At first I was flattered, but then I thought, well, I’m 31, married, and have children. But the lady told me they had a married division and also shared with me other pageants that have the same divisions. So I talked to my husband about it, he encouraged me, and I won my first pageant through Dooly County Relay for Life.”

It’s more than just the title and crown for Henry, it’s an opportunity to make a difference and be a role model for young girls, she said.

“It’s not about the crown, it’s about what you do with it,” Henry said. “My husband and I already have been active volunteers in our community, but through these pageants, it’s given me more opportunities to make a difference and to be a role model. My platform is, ‘Stand up, speak up; No excuse for child abuse.’”

Henry and her husband are active members of Second Baptist Church as greeters and participants of the children’s ministry as well. She also volunteers with the Rainbow House, Family Promise of Greater Houston County, and the Methodist Children’s Home.

“I chose this platform because a couple of years ago at my church, a young boy just gripped my heart,” Henry said. “It was around Christmas time, and one Sunday when my husband and I were teaching children’s church, this little boy came up to me upset. He said his father wasn’t going to be around for Christmas. Come to find out later, his parents had a domestic dispute, and it really tore him apart. And it, like I said, just gripped my heart, so I began volunteering through local non-profit organizations that advocate and help children that have been abused.”

Henry said the Ms. World Organization is similar to the Miss America Organization. When she goes to compete for Ms. U.S. World, she will do so in the areas of interview, on-stage question, active wear, and evening gown. If she wins Ms. U.S. World, Henry will then compete internationally for Ms. World. Henry also believes any and everything is possible with God.

“I am so thankful for my many blessings,” Henry said. “If it were not for his mercy and grace, I would not be where I am today. I am very thankful that God has blessed me with the passion for children and service. I will use these talents, honor him, and allow him to shine through me in everthing that I do.”

The Ms. U.S. World is not televised, but Henry said it will be live-streamed on social media.
