Letter to the Editor – Tiffany Lynch

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Dear Editor,

On June 24, the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, eliminating the federal constitutional right to abortion. This gives lawmakers here in Georgia permission to ban abortion, [which they are likely to do, OR have already done]. We deserve the right to make decisions about our own bodies and lives.

As a mother I believe living women should have just as many rights over their body as a dead person. You cannot take organs from a dead person without explicit consent, no matter whom those organs can save. Why do living woman deserve less rights than that?

We got here partly because abortion stigma kept us silent. Now is the time to talk about abortion loudly. This decision will affect generations of people. They are counting on us to not stay silent.

Sincerely,

Tiffany Lynch
