Dear Editor,

We have just witnessed the devastation of one of the most powerful hurricanes to pass through the Caribbean-parts of the Gulf of Mexico– crossing the peninsular state of Florida; and now bringing havoc to the Eastern Seaboard.  The damage surrounding lives and properties with adverse weather patterns can always be termed as tragic. What amplifies the scenario is commentary by  prognosticators who have failed to become illuminated with observation , knowledge, and common sense–bringing a “fist full” of slanted information on global warming. Fess up Buttercup; and face realities; supported by factual stats! A host of alarming proclamations;  indicting patriots–with accusation that “we muddied the puddle”– is distinctly out of order! The most powerful hurricane ever to touch American shores was the 1935 Labor Day hit which wiped out the Florida Keys,  with a velocity of 185 miles per hour;  (and approximate gusts of 250 MPH) Hours later the same later skirted my home. close to Tampa. No need to challenge my words, I was there–and I remember!!  Do keep in mind that those were the days with few cars, highways—a minimal population —most of whom had little knowledge of the word “pollution”!  We live in a different day! Some people spend a complete generation without “ILLUMINATION”!!

It is readily admitted that we have not been the best example in stewardship; but surely one should not “miss the forests for the trees’ ‘!   We have been diminished to indiscreet measures of reproduction (now approaching Nine Billion on the planet)- and have adopted immoral and unauthordox methodology toward the dilemma.  We have threatened to pave every square foot of real estate (reducing necessary drainage);  and have seldom considered  the body temperature of humanity, plus cats, dogs, cows, horses, and armidillos. In such we have been totally “out in the weeds.” But to publicly endorse criteria that reeks of mental instability, will not pass muster. There are solid indications of ill winds during the middle ages.

To be perfectly honest about climate change, there has been only a fraction of what has been claimed by personalities with ulterior motives. Twisted minds and shallow intellectuals will never admit to errors, or acquiesce to a practical path. In the interim, a strategically balanced forum will spend countless dollars and days, in efforts to align with Mother Nature.  One surely recalls the day when “the earth was flat”—delaying a journey westward. The brilliance of light comes late for the slumbering mate! The “perks are often at the mercy of jerks”!
