Letter to the Editor – Dale Rackley
Dear Editor,
I wish to express my gratitude to all the people in Houston County who work tirelessly to care for homeless animals, specifically those in shelters. Some of you have paid positions and some are volunteers, but all are united in their love for the animals who live without the love and care of a family. Our shelters are filled to capacity with dogs, cats, puppies and kittens in need of homes.
Many of the shelters post lists of needed items. Some of the items are not expensive. A few dollars will help with the electric bills for air conditioning in this terrible heat. If we all pitch in and do what we can, we can help to provide better care for these animals.
I hope everyone will vote for the SPLOST in the upcoming election. One of the provisions proposed is a new animal shelter to be managed by the City of Warner Robins. Perhaps it can be a state-of-the-art facility that will be an ideal model for other counties in Georgia to visit.
Sincerely,
Dale Rackley
