Letter to the Editor – Aaron Hufstetler

Dear Editor,

the writer of the Letter dated February 9, 2022 must have been suffering from illusion of grandeur or was just plain delusional. I do not believe that we have anyone in our General Assembly or the Governor’s office that willfully goes about thinking about how they can suppress voters. However, we do have some people that have been spouting that message for years. The sad part of it is that some people believe it.

Every U.S. citizen in Georgia has equal opportunity to cast a Vote either in person or by absentee ballot if they are in possession of an ID of some sort that has been issued by the government. But, even with today’s election integrity rules that were passed in the 2021 General Assembly, some will find a way the cast some fraudulent votes.

I am just a Country Boy that grew up on a farm, but I still have a sufficient number of faculties about me to ascertain those individuals that are against an ID to cast a vote has nefarious ideals. Because that is a stopgap on curbing ballot harvesting.

Election Integrity would be better served if all Absentee Ballots were requested with a valid excuse: say a shut-in or out of area during early voting or Election Day.

Another way to have Voter Fraud is having drop boxes. All drop boxes should be eliminated.

The Heritage Foundation has determined that Georgia is number one (1) in Election Integrity.

My recommendation is that every voter should study all candidates’ platform and make a determination of which one is best qualified to go into office. However, be very careful, because some will embellish their ads and mailings, or maybe even prevaricate a little.

But, please do take advantage of the opportunity and vote.
