Lee Co. Trojans trounce Houston Co. Bears 29-9

The Houston County Bears football team hosted the Lee County Trojans on last Friday night. The Lee County Trojans came into the game as the 65th best high school football team in the country. Among other rankings include being the 15th best team in Georgia, while gaining media worthy attention as the second best team in Georgia’s class 6A.

The first half was a defensive clash for both squads, but several penalties slowed the game-tempo down. The HOCO Bears went into halftime with a small 9-7 lead over the Lee County Trojans.

In the second half, five low snaps and a few costly turnovers impacted the game for the Houston County Bears. The Bears offense could not get on the same page in the second half, and the Trojans defense proved to be too much for HOCO. Lee County would go on to shutout the Bears in the second-half.

The Trojans scored twenty-two unanswered points, which was enough to slow down HOCO. The Houston County Bears will move to 4-4 on the season and will travel down 1-75 South to Lowndes County on Friday night. The Bears are looking to finish the season on a positive note and get a win against Valdosta.
