Lady Panthers Sophomores to the rescue: Perry wins 5-4 at Howard
The Perry Lady Panthers were embroiled in a three-game losing streak before tonight’s eighth inning 5-4 victory at Howard tonight. The sophomore duo of Annie Chance and Avery Williams along with senior Emma Pruitt came through with a combination of five hits and three RBIs.
The Panthers scored two runs in the first inning and another pair of runs in the sixth inning before the Lady Huskies tied the game at four in the bottom of the seventh. Perry managed to win the game in the eighth inning.
On Tuesday the Lady Panthers, despite a 2-4, three RBI performance from senior Lauren Heath, lost a non-region game to visiting Schley County. The Lady Wildcats scored six runs in the first inning and another three during the fourth en route to the victory.
Perry will play four additional road games starting at Mary Persons on Tuesday. Three of those games will be consecutive – at Mary Persons, Fullington Academy and Upson-Lee- with a few days off before playing in Griffin at Spalding High on Tuesday, September 19.
