Ladies fill Shirley Hills church for Covenant Care
Women from all over town filled the sanctuary of Shirley
Hills Baptist Church Thursday for a fun-filled evening.
At the eighth annual Ladies’ Night Out, Connie Carey, an
inspirational speaker and stand-up comedian from the middle Georgia area, had
more than 400 women laughing and smiling at her stories.
The event was a fundraiser for Covenant Care Services,
according to Sandra Neal, the event’s chair.
Covenant Care is a non-profit, Christian adoption and
counseling ministry. They provide adoption placement services and follow-up
counseling in the state.
Neal said, “The event is three-fold. It raises awareness of
Covenant Care, raises funds for the ministry and girls need a night out.”
She said that last year, 450 tickets were sold and the event
raised around $19,000.
Stephen Story, who is the development director for Covenant
Care, said, “It is phenomenal that so many women show up to support Covenant
Care.”
