Jeff S. Pierce, Jr.
Warner Robins, GA- Jeff S. Pierce, Jr., went home to be with the Lord on Thursday September 1, 2016. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home. A Private Graveside Service for the family will be held at Andersonville National Cemetery. Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to a Charity of your choice.
Mr. Pierce was born on February 1, 1932 in Perry, Georgia to the late Jeff S. and Gussie Pierce Sr. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy and obtained a degree in Economics from Mercer University. He was a founding Director of First Federal Savings and Loans Association where he served as president for 27 years and later retired. Jeff had a substantial amount of experience in his profession; some of that experience includes being a former director of First Financial Services Inc., as well as a former director of Georgia Savings and Loan League. He later served on the Board of Directors at Oglethorpe Power Corporation until their definite closing which led him to be a director at other corporations including the Georgia Systems Operations Corporation (GSOC), and Flint EMC in Reynolds, GA. He enjoyed serving his community and was a former chairman and trustee of the Houston County Library Board. Some of the professional organizations he was a part of include the Warner Robins Chamber of Commerce, Warner Robins Industry Now Group (WRING), Warner Robins Little Theatre, Warner Robins Mutual Concert Association, Warner Robins United Givers Fund, and a member of the Masons. Jeff was a former Rotarian, member of Flint Electric board as well as a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association. In his spare time he volunteered at Robins Air Force Base Museum of Aviation. He was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Warner Robins. He was a very loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who will be greatly missed.
Mr. Pierce is preceded in death by one sister, Joyce Jones, and great grandson Thomas Daniel Livingston.
He is survived by his loving wife, Martha B. Pierce, Warner Robins; two daughters, Lisa Horton (Ricky); Julianne Lewis, both of Warner Robins; four grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
