Houston Home Journal receives several awards from annual Trib Publications Inc. Advertising Conference
The Houston Home Journal attended the annual Trib Publications Advertising Conference this weekend and came home with five awards that included the Houston Home Journal Publisher Cheri Adams receiving General Manager of the Year.
The Journal was awarded first place for Best Automotive Advertisement, second place for Best Special Section, which was the Journal’s, “The Fair Journal”. This year’s judge Will Davis stated the Fair Journal was a beautiful full color, small sized magazine. Davis stated he like the consistent multi-color graphics theme throughout and it had lots of good-looking ads and helpful information to boot. The staff also received second place for Highest Revenue for Special Issue for the “At Home in Houston County” Magazine and second place for General Advertising Excellence.
Houston Home Journal Publisher and General Manager Cheri Adams said she is proud of the staff.
“Everyone in the company contributes to the success of this paper,” Adams said. “We work together and wear multiple hats. It takes all of us as a team to get the paper out and make it successful.”
Adams has received General Manager of the year of Trib Publications Inc., for the second time. When asked about how it felt to receive the award she said it was not about her.
“It’s not a ‘me’ award, it’s a ‘we’ award” Adams said. “I couldn’t be General Manager of the Year without everyone in this building and I am so grateful and appreciative of everyone’s hard work and dedication to bringing the best community newspaper to Houston County.”
