Houston Healthcare celebrates employees
Employees of Houston Healthcare were awarded for their years of service Tuesday evening at the Cary Martin Conference Center in Warner Robins. Houston Healthcare recognizes years of service in increments of five years.
Houston Healthcare also presented the Rise Above award to eight individuals. Vice President of Patient Care Services and Chief Nursing Officer Melinda Hartley said Rise stands for Respect, Integrity, Service Innovation and Excellence.
“Many of our employees in this organization exhibit these each and every day,” said Hartley. “This particular award goes to individuals who received the most rise acknowledgements over the last year. Congratulations to you all.”
The following are the recipients of the Rise Above award: Kasey Zell Allen, Desiree Lavar Banasiak, Kerri Lynn Glasscock, Nabila Munir Raza, Felicia Anderson Barron, Crystal S. Coleman, Duane A. Ennis and Yvonne L. Weldon.
The top award of the night was presented to Patricia Ann Brown. Brown was awarded her 45 years of service certificate. Houston Healthcare CEO Cary Martin helped make the presentation over video chat.
“I wish I could be with you all in person, but as many of you know, I currently have a medical condition that does not allow me to be in large crowds,” said Martin. “However I am appreciative to have the opportunity to be here by video. We have a fantastic group of employees here tonight. Their dedication and caring for others and making our community a better place to live is beyond question. However, they cannot do this without the support of their families. We would be remiss if we failed to acknowledge these unsung heroes.
“Tonight we are proud to honor a lady who has been a faithful employee of Houston Healthcare for 45 years,” said Martin. “She has made a tremendous difference in the lives of patients and families, and we are grateful to have her on our team. Congratulations to you, Patricia.”
Brown was overwhelmed with a standing ovation and round of applause. She said she loves working for Houston Healthcare.
“Houston Healthcare is an amazing organization,” said Brown. “How they treat their employees is amazing. I never thought when I first started here that I would be here for this long and to continue to be, but again with how great they are, that’s the reason I’ve been here for so long.”
Brown is a lactation consultant for Houston Healthcare.
