Houston County High & Northside High pep rallies
A wave of orange and blue descended on Center Park as the Northside Eagles, looking to pump up the local fanbase and foster solidarity within the community, held a huge pep rally Thursday. The band, the cheerleaders and the football players got involved in the party, putting on a show for the fans. And the fans turned out in droves to support their beloved team. The Eagles face the Perry Panthers in a scrimmage Friday night, and then they kick off the season against Jones County on Aug. 20, which will take place at Mercer University in Macon.
Hopeful that this season will elevate the program and move it back in the right direction, the Houston County Bears faithful turned out in huge numbers to support their team and new coach, Jeremy Edwards, at Freedom Field Thursday. The Bears also had the entire crew out at the event — the players, the cheerleaders, the coaches and the band— and they put on a show for the local fans. The program is anticipating a great year, and they can’t wait to watch the team in action, as they take the field in a scrimmage against Mary Parsons Friday night and then kick off the season against Sumter County on Aug. 19.
