Horseshoe pitching with Super Sonic Power
The Super Sonic Power horseshoe tournament took place Sept. 7 at Tanner Park in Warner Robins. Shown here are two class champions, Suzanne Miller of Cordele in Class A and D.J. Mullis of Perry in Class C. Miller and Aubrey Walker of Perry went to a playoff after finishing the initial rounds 4-1. Walker lost to Miller earlier in the day, but then lost a second time. Miller had 111 ringers out of 240 shoes. Mullis had a 5-1 record, the only loss coming to second place finisher Tony Bennett by one point. That was in Mullis’ next-to-last match, however, after an unbeaten run, and Mullis recovered to win his last match and claim first place. He had 74 ringers out of 240 shoes. Also, Mark Walton of Perry had a perfect day, 7-0, to win Class E with 63 ringers.
