Hello, from Dr. Daryl Vining
Hello! Let me introduce myself. Isn’t that one of the more difficult things to do — talk about yourself. Seems self-serving and kind of odd, but I will try to.
As a resident of this community and a citizen in this country, we all share some things in common. An expectation of representation in government. An opportunity to build a life for oneself and ones’ family. A way to exercise and enjoy freedoms. All in all, we all would like to live a life that reflects the fulfillment of the promise of hope that we can have because of living in this great nation.
Every community is made up of groups of people who are impacted by their personal experiences or perspectives on any given situation. Those perspectives may be framed by economic, educational, ethnic, or ecumenical concerns. Who will speak up for the majority in the middle?
It is my hope to share a perspective with you that will challenge us to think, to talk and to discover what we share to fulfill the potential of our community. It works better when we work together rather than just rail against one another from the extremes.
There will be discussion, observation, and analysis on every aspect of life in our community. We will even take some time to explore how regional, state, national and world issues impact us. Let’s turn some stones over, together, and see what we can find, fix or foster.
