Haynesville fire results in no injuries
Houston County Fire Chief Chris Stoner said the call came in around 5:15 Wednesday morning, reporting a house fire at 3154 South Highway 341 in Haynesville. Stoner shared that the homeowners had not been home at the time of the fire, as they had gone out to get breakfast, but on their return, discovered the event.
Stoner explained that the house sits a little ways off of the road, so the fire had a little bit of time to build before it became noticeable from the roadway. Stoner informed that when Houston County Fire Department personnel arrived on scene, the back of the house was on fire, and crews were able to contain the blaze.
Stoner said that he did not know that he would classify the event as a “total loss,” but that the back 50% or so of the structure did sustain fire damage. He said residents may be able to salvage some of the contents of the house, and the structure was still standing. There were no injuries involved in the incident, Stoner confirmed, and added that the event was under investigation to find the cause of the incident.
