Gloria Champion Shipes
Gloria was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Haynesville. She worked for 10 years for the Houston County Board of Education as a Kindergarten Paraprofessional at Perry Primary School. Always happy and cheerful, Gloria enjoyed cooking, spending time outside, gardening, and fishing. The greatest joy in her life was her family, whom she loved dearly. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Donnie Shipes; her mother, Mae Champion; her parents, James and Ada Champion; and a sister, Dolly Sloan.
Left to cherish the memories of Gloria are her daughter, Ella Shipes of Haynesville; her son, Jamie Shipes (Brandi) of Haynesville; her sister, Lenora Rickerson (Billy) of Hawkinsville; and her brother, Tommy Sloan of Hawkinsville; her granddaughter who affectionately referred to her as “GiGi”, Rylee Platt; and several nieces and nephews.
Condolences may be left for the family in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com
