Get Ready for Peaches to Beaches
The second weekend of March is a time my family looks forward to every year.
The second weekend of March is a time my family looks forward to every year. The annual Peaches to Beaches yard sale starts in Barnesville and travels down Highway 341 all the way to Brunswick Georgia. Many towns and homeowners along the way participate. Our family has sometimes sold, but mostly bought along the route since the beginning of this event.
Shoppers can find all kinds of antiques, crafts, foods and vendors. One of our favorite things is to buy chickens in Eastman! That is the point where we are usually shopped out and ready to head to the beach! We like to spend the weekend at Jekyll island. I surely hope we have good weather for it this year. March is so unpredictable weather-wise. We have had years where it has been cancelled because of heavy rain, wind or cold or all of the above! There have also been times when we were sweaty and sunburned!
Some shoppers stick to the route but others like to go to the sales just off of the route. The good stuff does go early! It is a great time to sell and it is worth it to be an official vendor on the map and with signage. You can also get an official passport and get it stamped along the way in order to win cash and prizes. Make sure to be careful as there are a lot of people walking and driving in and out of the route. For more info just type it into your favorite search engine! It’s a fun event and more fun with friends or family. Hope to see you out on the bargain hunt, Happy Collecting!
