Georgia Horseshoe Pitchers Association honors late Jimmy Coile in tournament
HULL, Ga. — The Jimmy Coile Memorial was a great day of pitching for the Georgia Horseshoe Pitchers Association on August 26, 2023.
The tournament started off with a minute to remember Jimmy Coile and the impact he made in the GHPA and Hull horseshoes. He is missed but his legacy lives on.
28 pitchers started the day in five classes.
Championship Class
Larry Davis won the Championship Class with a 4/1 record and 69.50%. Matthew Braswell took second place with a 3/2 record with a 56.50%. Dale Marteney took third with a 3/2 record and a 67.5% ringer percentage.
Class A
Robbie Bloodworth took 1st place and had a 43.50%. Ray Mitchell took 2nd place with 41.5% record and a 3/2 record. Royce Byrd pitched 38% and also had a 3/2 record.
Class B
Marcus Waters took 1st after a play off with Ronald Echols. Marcus pitched 31.25% and had a 5/1 record. Ronald Echols took 2nd with a 4/2 record and 24.58%. Jeff Coile got 3rd with a 31.0% average and a 3/2 record.
Class C
Class C had a three-way playoff to decide the class. Jean Bullington came out on top with a 5/1 record and a 16.0% average. Trace Mason took second with a 4/2 record and pitched 21.5%. David Coile finished third with a 3/2 record and 20.0%.
Class D
Charlie Burroughs went undefeated with a 4/0 average and 11.88% for 1st place. Bobby Arnold was 3/1 and pitched 5.63% for 2nd place.
