Mansfied native, and rising country music artist Gannon Adams has been chosen to perform a song that he co-wrote with fellow Georgians James Colt and Charlie Gilbert at the Vince Lombardi trophy award show in Houston, Texas, on Dec. 5.

The Lombardi Trophy is awarded annually to the nation’s top linebacker or interior lineman.

Gannon was selected by CBS College Today sports anchor Spencer Tillman to perform on the show after Tillman heard the rocking country version of the song titled “Game Face.”

The tune is a catchy, upbeat, positive message song that embraces the morals and work ethic that the award’s namesake, Vince Lombardi, stood for.

Adams career has been on the fast track since he was selected by Merle Haggard to open shows for the country music legend. The first show with Haggard was a performance at the legendary Ryman Auditorium, home of the Grande Ole Opry in Nashville, Tenn.

Adams has been honing his skills by touring the club, fair, and concert hall circuits in the Southeast.
